How WORLD knows what it shows

Methodology

WORLD tracks publicly observable connections between people and brands — who wore, carried or used which brand, who fronted its campaigns or became its ambassador, and when. Products appear as supporting detail when a specific item matters.

Discover shows movement: who and what is appearing more often, which person × brand pairings are new or returning, and what changed in a period. It measures activity — never a person’s worth, taste, success or influence — and it gives nobody a score or a rank.

Everything is counted from records in the tracked WORLD dataset. It describes movement inside that dataset and does not represent the entirety of fashion, beauty or culture.

Evidence

  • Every public relationship must be backed by at least one source with a URL — an article, photo, video, brand announcement or reference page.
  • Records move through draft → needs review → verified. Only verified records appear publicly and only verified records are counted.
  • New events are found with AI-assisted web search, which proposes a candidate together with the pages it came from. A person opens every source and approves, corrects or rejects it — nothing is published because a model produced it.
  • Uncertain evidence stays in review and is not counted. AI never decides what WORLD shows as movement, and we don’t scrape social platforms.

How movement is described

Discover shows changes in verified fashion and beauty activity across WORLD. It looks at appearances, brand relationships and new pairings over time. It describes movement, not people’s worth or influence.

  • A verified moment is one dated, sourced person × brand record: an appearance (wore, carried, used), a campaign, a collaboration or an ambassadorship. One source story counts once per person, per brand and per pairing.
  • Each period (7, 30 or 90 days) is compared only with the equal period just before it — and only once WORLD’s records cover that whole previous period. Until then, WORLD shows counts without comparisons.
  • Lists are sorted by a stated count (for example “verified moments — last 7 days”), and the sort is shown above every list. Nobody is numbered or ranked.
  • If there isn’t enough verified activity, WORLD says so instead of filling the gap.

Labels

  • New to WORLD

First verified moment WORLD has recorded, inside this period.

  • More activity than before

At least 2 more verified moments than the previous period, and at least 1.5× as many.

  • Returning

Active again after no verified moments in the previous period.

  • Steady

At least as many verified moments as the previous period.

  • Resurfacing

Active again after six months or more without a verified moment.

  • First verified pairing

The first verified moment of a person with a brand.

  • Seen together again

A person × brand pairing with earlier verified history.

  • Unusually active

Well above an entity’s own average of the previous periods — measured against itself, not against anyone else.

There are no negative labels. When activity drops, WORLD shows the counts and nothing else.

Last 7 days (Oct 7 – Oct 13, 2026): 0 verified moments, 0 people, 0 brands — not yet enough history for comparisons.

Limits

  • Coverage is deliberately small and dense. A brand or person missing from WORLD says nothing about their real-world relevance.
  • Prices and availability are as listed by the retailer on the check date shown and may have changed.
  • Images are credited to their source; people’s photos come from openly licensed collections where possible.
